P52 Sweet Shot Tuesday with Kent Weakley

It’s been a while since I’ve been to therapy, and I just knew that I needed to talk to my doc.  So that’s what I did!  I called up some friends (The Middle Tennessee Shutterbugs), who I happen to be an admin for, and set up a Doc appointment on the Shelby Street Bridge.  The Shelby Street Bridge is a great place to catch a sunrise, sunset and a fantastic view of Nashville’s skyline.  Heck, I even got Kent Weakley up there one time!We were calling this event “sunsets & skyscrapers”.  the sun set, but we never saw it because of cloud cover and a few raindrops.  But we did not let that dampen our therapy session.  So here are a few shot’s I captured while dodging raindrops!

Did I forget to mention this month’s challenge over at the Shutterbug site is Black & White?  Hence, all the b&w shots!

Well, that’s all I’ve got this week!  Until next time!

P52 Sweet Shot Tuesday with Kent Weakley

I know, I’m a little late with this one, but better late than never!

This past Saturday, yes a week ago, my online photography group that I help administer took a little trip to Adams, TN.  Not a big city, but a pretty cool place for photography adventurers like myself.  In fact, there were 27 of us photography adventurers that went :-)

Photograph by Brett Engle Photography

Our hostess for this gathering was Christina Brooks-Swanson (Saved by Grace Photography), and we owe her a huge THANK YOU for setting this up!  She not only set up the sites we visited, but also opened her doors and fed us lunch!  And feed us she did. . . 2 pots of beef stew (her and her husband Jeff raise their own cattle), a pot of vegetable soup, meatballs, chuck wagon potatoes, pineapple angel food cake, pecan pie . . . the list goes on and on!  This young lady said something that really warmed my heart  and showed me where her heart was at.  When someone thanked her for doing this, she said. “Hospitality  my spiritual gift, I’ve welcomed you into my home, fed you and loved you, just as Christ did to me”.   That my friends is one true Christian / Southern lady!  Anyway, on to the photos. . .

Notice how everyone walking around is looking down?  That’s right, this was an honest to goodness working farm and let’s just say this is where the cows come home! The above shot was a 5 shot panorama that I stitched together in Photoshop and then ran through NIK’s Color Efex 4.

I can’t even begin to think where I would be photographically without my friends from the Middle Tennessee Shutterbugs.  I’ve learned so much from these guys and gals that it’s scary sometimes.  They are a true inspiration to me each and everyday!  So if you are living in the Middle Tennessee area and have not found us, follow the link below to our Facebook page and ask permission to join.

Just in case you want to follow my photo journey, I can be found on Facebook as well!
